LINDA G. CHASE, CPA, CFE
DEPARTMENT CHAIR OF ACCOUNTING & FINANCESCHOOL OF BUSINESS BALDWIN WALLACE UNIVERSITY
Dr. Chase is the Department Chair and tenured accounting professor in the School of Business at Baldwin Wallace University and entering her 19th year full-time, 23nd year including her work as an adjunct professor. Dr. Chase’s main teaching load consists of financial based courses –Fraud Examination, and Principles, Intermediate, and Advanced Accounting.
She has volunteered for multiple positions with the global ACFE headquarters. Dr. Chase has served for many years on the Advisory Board of The Fraud Magazine, submitted book reviews to the ACFE, reviewed Joseph Well’s personal memoir prior to publication, and was active on the Higher Education Partnership Committee.
Beyond the time Dr. Chase spends time at her job in higher education, she finds time to work out, read suspense novels, and walk her Bichon.
RALPH BARONE, CFE, ACAMS
SPECIAL INVESTIGATOR CUYAHOGA COUNTY PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE
Since 2007, Ralph Barone, CFE, CAMS has been a Special Investigator with the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office in Cleveland. He is currently assigned to a Major Crime Task Force, established jointly by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio Organized Crime Investigation Commission. Prior to this, he was assigned to a Public Corruption Task Force named “Operation Broken Trust” and a member of a Mortgage Fraud Task Force named “Operation Clean House”, both of which were established jointly by the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office and The Ohio Organized Crime Investigation Commission.
Ralph graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology in 1973. Soon after he was employed as a Patrolman for the Edinboro, PA Police Department and in 1979 became Chief of Police until 1994. Post police work, he spent some time as a licensed realtor in Pennsylvania and worked as a Branch Manager for A.T. Systems, an armored transport service company.
Ralph became a Certified Fraud Examiners in 2010 and received training at the National White-Collar Crime Center in the areas of Financial Investigation and Financial Records Examination and Analysis in 2012 and 2013. He then received his designation as a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist and obtained a Private Investigator’s license in 2018.
In his off time, Ralph serves as an adjunct instructor of Criminal Justice at Remington College, has fun and enjoys his 4 grown children and 6 grandchildren, conducting genealogy research on his family, plays golf and collects Bruce Springsteen music and memorabilia.
